About

Exeter Respiratory Medicine Society is proud to host the first National Undergraduate Respiratory Medicine Conference. This will be a virtual event held online using the zoom platform.

The event will include a variety of talks by Senior Respiratory Consultants Professor David Halpin, Professor Michael Gibbons, Dr Jane Smith and Dr Anne-Marie Russell.

The conference will also provide delegates with the opportunity to submit abstracts in the field of Respiratory Medicine for consideration and presentation at the event if successfully accepted. Abstracts will be judged by Dr Chris Scotton, Dr Jane Smith and Dr Anne-Marie Russell.

Aims and Objectives

  • To inspire medical students and foundation doctors to pursue a career in Respiratory Medicine.
  • To provide an insight to delegates on what a career in Respiratory Medicine entails.
  • To provide an opportunity for medical students and foundation doctors to present research as a poster presentation.
  • To allow delegates the opportunity to network.
  • To provide an opportunity for delegates to enhance CVs using valuable information provided by a Registrar familiar with the requirements.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts for poster presentation relating to the topic of Respiratory Medicine are welcome. These may be audit, research, or case presentation.

Structured abstracts must include all subheadings, limited to 350 words and not exceed one page including figures, tables and references. Please ensure that all authors are stated under the title and include the corresponding email.

Abstracts should be submitted with the title in Arial style, 12 point, bold and centred. The main body must be submitted in Arial style, 10 point with default page margins.

All abstracts should be submitted to respiratorymedicine@groups.exeterguild.com no later than 17th April 2021.
