This course will explain the concept of the Enhanced Recovery Programme. It will discuss the pre- and post-operative protocols around surgery and provide an understanding of the principles of anaesthesia and pain relief post-operatively on the ward. It will highlight the importance of minimally invasive surgery and discuss peri-operative management on the ward. Additionally, it will discuss fluid management on the ward and focus on discharge planning.
