Glasgow University Emergency Medicine Society is pleased to announce the return of their National Undergraduate Emergency Medicine Conference for 2019. This year, the conference will return with a variety of lectures and clinical skills workshops taught by experienced clinicians and leaders in the field of Emergency Medicine.

The morning will consist of lectures covering a range of topics including ‘A Day in the Life of an ED Doctor’ and ‘Emergencies in Space'. Lunch will be provided, along with an abstract and poster presentation for which prizes will be available. The afternoon will be focused around an emergency scenario. This will incorporate clinical skills such as A-E assessment, airway management, C-spine immobilisation, splinting, cannulas and X-ray analysis.

The conference is open to medical students and other healthcare students with an interest in Emergency Medicine from throughout the UK and abroad.

Abstract Submission

  • Abstracts are to be submitted to guemergencymedsoc@gmail.com.
  • Abstracts should be submitted with the subject title ‘CONFERENCE POSTER ABSTRACTS’.

Aims and Objectives

  • To provide an insight into a career in Emergency Medicine.
  • To provide training in the appropriate clinical skills relevant to Emergency Medicine.
  • To provide students with an opportunity to present their research.
  • To demonstrate the various opportunities that a career in Emergency Medicine can offer.
