General Advice
- Plan your journey to the test centre in advance. Make sure that you know where to go and arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of your test.
- You must present a valid photographic identification on the day of the test. This must be either your passport, your (provisional) driving licence, an EU identity card, or a government-issued identity card from a non-EU country.
- You must take the email (electronic or hard copy)that you received from Pearson VUE which confirms the date and time of your test.
- You will be given a set of laminated A4-sized boards and a pen to take notes during the test.
- An on-screen calculator will be available in the Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning sections. Make sure that ‘Num Lock’ is switched on so that the numbers on your keyboard work.
- You must complete each section of the test in succession, and the time cannot be shared between sections. Once you have started the test, you cannot pause it.
- At the end of the test, you will receive your UCAT score. You will also be able to access your score via your Pearson VUE account after 24 hours.
- Since you will receive your UCAT score before the UCAS deadline, it is suggested that you use it to guide your final university choices.
- Your UCAT score will be given to your chosen universities in early November.
- If you experience an issue on the day of the test that might affect your performance (such as noise disruption or technical issues), you must report it to an invigilator during the test. If the issue is not satisfactorily resolved at the time, you can request an Incident Investigation. Make sure that you obtain an incident case number from the test centre before you leave. Further information can be found on the UCAT website.
