An invitation to contribute to the MILAN 2026 CME Programme

A Total of Six CPD Points Will be Awarded by Doctors Academy and The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Cardiff for Attendance on Both Days.

Dear Friends,
As part of MILAN 2026, we are planning a short CME programme on Saturday 17th October and Sunday 18th October 2026.

Thirty one years after leaving KMC, our batch now represents an extraordinary breadth of experience. We have colleagues working across almost every medical and surgical specialty, in different healthcare systems and countries, as well as in research, education, leadership, business and other fields.

The CME is an opportunity to share some of that collective experience with each other.

This is deliberately not intended to be a conventional conference. The presentations will be short, informal and focused:

8-minute presentation + 2 minutes for questions

The subject does not have to be highly specialised or academic. In fact, we would particularly welcome topics that would be interesting and relevant to colleagues outside your own specialty. The talks will be interspersed with light-hearted debate and quizzes.

The suggested topics cover a broad range, including:

  • Health, prevention and healthy ageing
  • Cardiology and vascular health
  • Diabetes, obesity and metabolic health
  • Cancer prevention and treatment
  • Musculoskeletal health and mobility
  • Neurology and cognitive health
  • Women's and men's health
  • Surgery and advances in clinical practice
  • AI, technology and the future of medicine
  • Healthcare systems, education and leadership
  • Business, investing and financial planning
  • Retirement and life after full-time medicine
  • Career experiences and lessons from 31 years of practice

We have put together some suggested titles that you may consider. These are suggestions rather than prescribed titles. Please CLICK HERE to see the full MILAN CME Topic List or CLICK HERE to download.

Please feel free to select one, modify it, or propose something from your own area of expertise or experience.

Once we have received everyone's preferences, we will put together a balanced programme across the two days and contact the speakers individually.

There is a remarkable amount of knowledge and experience within our own batch. MILAN 2026 gives us an opportunity to learn from each other; not only about how medicine has changed, but also about what we have learnt along the way.

We very much hope many of you will take part.
